What It Takes To Be An Actor
If you have what it takes to be an actor then acting career is there for you. It is the best way to display your talents. The job of an actor is not dependent on the age or look merely but it is more dependent on the intensity with which the actors can show their acting talents. The skill which is required for this career involves creating magical moments which look realistic and for this actors need proper coaching. For becoming a successful actor or model there are some personal traits which are required for them to get into the character.
These include:
- Concentration is very important for an actor to play the part of someone else. It takes effort as well as time for getting into the character or playing the role of someone else and minor distractions can lead to loss of the focus. If you have what it takes to be an actor then these tips will be helpful for your acting career.
- Continuing with the learning process– actors are learners and if the actor is unprepared then acting may be difficult. After years of practice an actor can act without effort and in a simple way.
- Listening to others– actors should be good listeners because taking the advice of others are very helpful. Interacting with others is also equally important along with communicating and reacting to the actions of others. Actors should have excellent communication skills. This communication may be either spoken or with the help of actions.
- Being disciplined- an actor should be disciplined. Even if an actor is famous or rich, he or she needs to lead a disciplined life in order to be successful in their career. A set routine should be followed effectively and any deviation in the production periods may change the outcome. A lot of discipline is required for getting into the character emotionally and physically.
- Good expression- expressing their emotion impulsively and freely is the job of an actor which is done by using their voice and body. The job of an actor is to create vivid imaginations and unforgettable moments to become famous and successful. Actors are considered as good story tellers who emote and expresses through their acting.
- Imagination- actors should be imaginative. Acting career is dependent on being imaginary a trait which is developed from childhood. Hard work is required for developing and connecting to the imagination and the dreams of an actor to come true. Imagination is a fuel which drives the actions of an actor.
- Expressive and flexible voice- an actor is required to have a voice quality which is expressive and flexible so that he or she may express freely. This may connect to a highly developed imagination to a supportive and flexible body.
If a person possesses all of these traits, then he or she can become a good actor or a model. These characteristics have to be developed with proper training along with the pre existing innate ability to act or show their talent.

This was very helpfup and reminded me of some key aspects of acting.
I know it is very difficult to pursue a career in this industry from my country; and even if I am willing to move, casting directors don’t want to take that chance. I never to cease to pray and hope though, that one day my dreams will become reality.

I would love to act whether it’s in the background or as a major role.. I love animals and would love to be able to show the world that on screen… I’ve been horseback riding since I was 3 and working with exotic animals since I was 16.. I am 23 and a mum to a gorgeous little boy. And acting is something I have always wanted to do. But i have always struggled with my confidence and stage fright. I finally overcame my fear and am now attending a drama school. Its not about the fame for me but to become a pary of an art and an ever changing career. If done right you can tell a story and show the true emotion needed for the role. Its exciting and hard work and its an art that will always be out there. I want to be a positive role model and show that no matter what obstacles are thrown at you, you can always have your dream if you work hard enough for it. Fame doesn’t interest me at all, it’s all about the job and the art!!!

My absolute dream my entire life ever since I can remember is too act and preform for people and entertain people. Honestly my life goal is to win an oscar or golden globe. I know it sounds very impossible because the only acting experience I’ve had has been in the mirror or on a school stage but i truly believe in myself and have that much confidence that I believe I can do it.
Everyone has passed me by when it comes to telling them my life goal because it’s something a lot of people want! But I want it more than anything. My two absolute inspirations are Meryl Streep and Ellen Degeneres! I read all these comments and I heard all the same things basically and it was you only want to act to be famous. It is truly sad that you only want fame. I love acting I am a freshman in high school and. I already have been in 7 productions within a 4 month period I just finished a Fairytale Christmas Carol by Pioneer Drama. It was amazing. Look forward to the joy to the fame. I wish I can star in Lab Rats but all of them have had experience I mean look at Billy Unger he’s 18 and became a star he started his acting career at 9. People like him are amazing and so hard to come by. So don’t go for the fame go for the fact that you get to join another “family”.

But I’ve finally convinced my self that I can be anything that I want to be! But here’s the problem.. I live in Sweden and I’ts not very populare with acting. I really want to be an actress. I am 12, I was a major part in my schools recent play “Into The Woods JR”. I can sing, dance, act, I play basketball, and I’m also a cheerleader which means I’m flexible. I’m afraid to tell my parents about wanting to be in a T.V. Show, commercial, or movie because I’m afraid they’ll laugh, judge me, then say no. I want to start off slow though by being a extra in T.V. Shows, movies, etc. Or being in a commercial.
